North University - Location
The North University neighborhood is nestled between the upper edge of the University of Texas at Dean Keaton Street and the lower border of Hyde Park at 38th Street. It is bordered on the east by Red River Street and on the west by Guadalupe Street. A very popular area for UT faculty, students and employees. It has a good mix of condos, as well as single family homes.
North University - Homes
The average sized home in North University has approximately 1,940 square feet, and three bedrooms. You can find homes in this area that were build as early as 1900, some of which are quite large and stately. Development of this area was nearly complete by the early 1940's - but of course there has been new construction on older home sites.
North University - Schools and Amenities
Because of the proximity to UT, area residents enjoy access to all sorts of music, dining and shopping venues. A few of my favorites are the Crown and Anchor Pub - always popular on "Pint Night" or any other night! Also Trudy's Mexican Restaurant on West 30th Street is a very popular dining and watering hole attraction in the area. This neighborhood tracks to Lee Elementary, Kealing Middle School and McCallum High.
